Dream > Materialise.
Towards the end of last year I had an idea about doing a photo shoot, I pictured the hair, the model, the lighting and the photographer who I have collaborated with and would receive this, understand it, it's significance and help to make it happen.
Time goes by and I forget about it.
In early 2012, I was reading a well known publication (in Australia), who's demographic targets the skating, art, music, surfing, photography, and fashion industry's.
There was an interview in it that read something like this; 'How is it being so close to the cultural wasteland of South-East Queensland?'
I thought to myself about the MAJOR tall poppy syndrome that is ever present here in Australia.
(If you aren't aware of this decay and negativity, you will notice it when you travel to other parts of the world to see & meet other people & places.)
I had a power nap with a similar dream to the one I had at the end of 2011 which was very possibly motivated by the small minded article I had read earlier.
Later that day I spoke to friend CK about this idea for a project.
This project was primarily for me to work on my fine motor skills, energy and confidence and secondly for CK and model Lesliegh to have and to use as they wish.
There is never a label to meet an agenda for, It's for them to use in their professional fields.
I have collaborated with CK in the past when I was healthy and successful. It was always refreshing for us to work with each other, it was an exchange of idea's, honesty, professionalism, jokes etc.
And at the end of it we had worked on a project out of our own motivation that would push us and could be used as currency as creatives.
(See some people have a CV to show their value on paper. Many Creative people cant show their value on paper, so 'currency' might be a portfolio, albums, artworks etc.)
A few weeks later, CK & I met in the 'boardroom' (beach) for our ritual of swimming, sun and solving current world issue's etc.
We talk about this idea logistics like the model, the lighting, the motivation behind it, the approach, the time of year etc.
He, as he always is, is super positive and into it.
The model, Lesliegh Burrell is so keen and relaxed. And is now currently dancing at the Moulin Rouge in Paris after being tracked down by a talent scout. She is babetown & we were lucky to nab her before she blows up.
I have said more than enough.
Here is some pictures!!
It took 3.5 hours to curl all of Lesleigh's straight hair. Every muscle was sore for a few days after!
CK & Lesleigh it was an honour. Thank you for helping the dream become reality.
xp
PS: South-East Queensland is certainly not a cultural wasteland.
Arrogance guised as ignorance is just arrogance, not funny clever or groundbreaking.
PPS: Everything starts with a dream.

Major Benefits.
After 4 and three quarter years I got a pension card from the government!!
This is HUGE news for me. (And for my children.)
One of the main reasons for the Philtron fundraiser's was to help with one of my main and consistent costs. Medication.
Now with some assistance my medication is subsidised.
From $150.00 a month every month to about $40.00
May not seem like much but this means a lot.
I can be proactive, in as far as if my children want to do extra curricular activity's.
I recently enrolled my son at a friends gym "Full Metal Jiu Jitsu" where they teach, fun, brotherhood, conditioning, strength, grappling, shoot fighting and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
He LOVES it.
My daughter is next. Teenage girl though. She is keen to try modelling, singing, acting, piano, guitar, violin, athletics..?
But the reason for this post is really to just say thank you.
In particular to my Family, Cousin's, Trev 'n' Gill, The late Dr Max Williams, Dr Arman Sabet, Claudio Kirac, Mark Duckworth, Casey Steele, Alessandro Musto, Rod Beilby, Ducati John, Tony Hickey, Hickey Lawyers, Q.L.D. Health, Red Cross, Spiritus, St Vinnie's, Katie Rackley (Kolodinski), Kara Patterson, Damian Hanley, Chris Redgrave, The Woodys, Pablo and close friends, (you know who you are.)
These very special humans have helped me, some in seemingly simple ways and some in seemingly impossible ways.
Yes my memory is bad and deteriorating so I'm sorry if I have forgotten something or someone.
Philtron events are not dead. Far from it.
Stay tuned.
I'm the guy taking a selfie with an extremely rare Auto Immune illness I live with: 'Anti GAD Anti Bodies' who is in Hospital for day 2 of monthly I.V.I.G. treatment. Saying that I am completely and eternally grateful for you reading my blog, helping to pick me up when I fall down to the dust.
Gods faith in me is unwaivering and never lets me down, this knowledge and the love around me (from family & friends etc.) is the fuel that keeps me going when nothing else can reach me when I get down.
Thank you.

High End Portaits
Christian Halford is a name some of you might be familiar with. He is an artist.
He has had a history of toying with pop art, as one of the original members of 'Undergold' an alliance of young creatives from the Gold Coast. ABCK (Amber Bignell & Claudio Kirac), (RIP late) Beau Velasco Parsons and of course Mr Christian Halford.
Then onto some work as a mercenary artist, which would help to fund time in Europe looking to travel, meet people (using some as subjects) and soak up the inspiring surrounds.
He spent a good chunk of time in Russia, Ukraine and Eastern Europe as well as rural France, Paris and Spain.
Right now he is focusing on his repertoire which has matured a lot.
Not only is he focussing on his craft. He also has minimal distraction (which I do envy) no TV, no social media, (facebook, twitter, instagram etc.) even sacrificing the time he would spend surfing.
He makes his own canvases on which he paints using a palette knife and oils to create raw, colourful and textured pieces.
The subject doesn't need to be amazing. In fact the more imperfections and unusual features, the better.
OK this portrait of me may not show many wrinkles or unusual features, but it's good gauge of his approach to the subject (how he can see things that others won't) and his talent. (See what I mean about use of colours?)
I would teach my staff years ago that; exercising restraint is VERY important and what will set you apart from others.

PS: I cannot get links to work, so just do your self a favour copy/paste it.

All clear!!
I don't know if you read my last post.
Just quickly: A routine CT scan looking for Lymphoma showed that a Lesion 2cm X 2cm had suddenly appeared in the middle of my right lung.
I was told it was 1 of 3 things;
1) Sarcoidosis(treatable).
2) Lymphoma(expected in the future).
3) Lung Cancer.
3 weeks ago my Haematologist (who has been monitoring my blood & Lymph Nodes) explained to me that upon further inspection of my lung scan, that it did not look like Sarcoid. (Bad news). And they would require another CT and review shortly.
I had that CT scan about a week ago and another appointment with my haematologist today. I have been distant the last few weeks. And was fairly nonchalant today.
Not that I have been scared. I considered myself a marked man back in 2008 when I first became sick, I have dealt with the fact that there isn't much certainty in my life anymore. (Not a plea for sympathy, just fact.)
ALL CLEAR!
I feel a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders.
I can move forward at speed again!
Thank you for your prayers, thoughts or words. Keep them coming, they are working!

Hello to whoever reads this, I have been seeing a Haematologist (specialist in blood disorders) for a few years now. It's very complicated but they are monitoring my lymph nodes and blood via constant blood test, CT scans, PET scans and biopsy's. A few months ago I had a CT scan of my neck, chest and abdomen and a lesion 2CMs X 2 CMs has suddenly appeared in the middle of my right lung. My Haematologist works closely with a team of Oncology specialists. They have said it could be lung cancer. It could be some sort of tumour, that is a result of my constantly swollen lymph nodes (they suspect that Lymphoma will very probably be a result due to the irritated nodes eventually). Or it may be an illness called Sarcoid. I have been told I should get a biopsy. This entails a needle to the lung, whilst removing some of the lesion. I have declined the biopsy. I have my reasons why, but either way my thoughts on the subject are: "Ehh… just put it on the pile of things already happening with my health".. I don't mean to come across as being an ignorant tool hero. I don't want to know unless I absolutely have to, you know? I have plenty enough on my plate to deal with every single day, than to even consider taking more unwanted news on. Besides the things that can go wrong with this lung biopsy, probably would go wrong with me. See, because my illness (anti GAD antibody's) is an autoimmune illness, it is treated with a very large monthly dose of Intragram (IVIG or plasma) into the bloodstream. As a result, my blood is VERY thin. It won't clot. For example; I grazed my shin a while ago which left me with a 5mm cut. I was leaking claret from this cut for about 3-4 days before it finally stopped. I mean imagine if my lung collapsed or blood got into my lung. And the biopsy may not reveal anything. So we will monitor it with CT scans ETC. And go from there. What would you do? x
